Seeing as the Carolina Hurricanes are my number one team, I was completely heartbroken to find out that one of my favorite players, Brandon Sutter, had been traded. But it was much to my relief to find out that he was traded to my number two team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
For those of you who do not know Brandon Sutter was the drafted to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2007, being the 11th pick of the first round, and was with them up until recently. Center player, Brandon Sutter, was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins earlier this summer in exchange for Jordan Staal.
As many pens fans know that the backbone to Pittsburgh was Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Jordan Staal, or better know as "The Big Three." Giving up one of the big three was not exactly an easy decision for Pittsburgh, but Sutter was the perfect asset to begin the trade package.
Throughout the past few seasons Brandon Sutter has been ranked either number two or number three center in Raleigh, North Carolina. Last season alone, Brandon Sutter brought a lot to the table for the Carolina Hurricanes with seventeen goals, and thirty-two points in the eighty two games he played. If Sutter's transition is made smoothly there could be a new Big Three shaking up the NHL.
Brandon, welcome to Pittsburgh.
xoxo - Samantha
